Modulating the Growth Curve in Broiler Chicken through Varying Balanced Protein Regimen (All Step-up, Designed to Get Compensatory Responses)

چکیده

Background: Compensatory growth is a well-established characteristic even in broiler chicken having very short grow-out cycle. Feeding manipulations that take advantages of compensatory after period nutrient restriction might be beneficial to poultry industry. Methods: In total, 1400 one-day-old straight run chicks (Hubbard) were allocated 8 experimental treatments, replicated 7 times with 25 each, completely randomized design. The 3 isocaloric corn soybean meal diets; high BP (HBP) 1.2% standardized ileal digestible lysine (SID Lys), medium (MBP) 1.1% SID Lys and low (LBP) 1.0% Lys, offered starter, grower finisher phases, as HML (conventional) LHH, MHH, LMM, MMH, LLM, LLH LMH all steps-up. Result: Greater (P less than 0.05) BW BWG observed groups during phases. MMH group had greater FI better FCR starter LMM heavier abdominal fat pad, whereas, MHH dressed carcass, breast meat, drumstick thigh yield. groups, similarly, higher spleen, thymus, bursa weights, antibody titers against NDV IBDV total protein concentration. blood glucose, urea cholesterol concentrations. It is, therefore, recommended HBP (1.2% Lys) should gradually step down LBP (1.10% for efficient sustainable production chicken.

Haematological Study in Response to Varying Doses of Estrogen in Broiler Chicken

Present study was conducted at the Poultry Physiology Unit, Department of Physiology, University of Karachi. Study evaluated the response of varying Estradiol valerate (a synthetic estrogen) doses in broilers (chickens) on the RBC, ESR and Hb at different ages. Two trials were carried out on 100-day-old broiler chicks. Estrogen was injected in volumes of 1ml, 3ml and 5ml subcutaneously in neck....

The Effect of Uncoupling Protein Polymorphisms on Growth, Breeding Value of Growth and Reproductive Traits in the Fars Indigenous Chicken

The avianuncoupling protein (avUCP) is a member of the mitochondrial transporter superfamily that uncouples proton entry in the mitochondrial matrix from ATP synthesis. The polymerase chain reaction restriction fragment length polymorphism (PCR-RFLP) method was used to estimate the allele and genotype frequencies of the UCP/HhaI polymorphisms and to determine associations between these polymorp...

CARDIOVASCULAR RESPONSES TO HYPERCAPNIA AND VARYING LEVELS OF ARTERIAL pH IN THE ANESTHETIZED CAT

Effects of acute hypercapnia on the cardiovascular system (CYS) were studied in the anesthetized cat. After surgery the animal was exposed to a gas mixture of 12% CO2 and 25% O2 in nitrogen, and hypercapnia with low levels of arterial pH (pHa) was produced for 20 minutes. In the second run the same level of hypercapnia was induced by ventilating the same cat from the above gas mixture but ...

Use of a stair-step compensatory gain nutritional regimen to program the onset of puberty in beef heifers1

It was hypothesized that metabolic programming of processes underlying puberty can be shifted temporally through the use of a stair-step compensatory growth model such that puberty is optimally timed to occur at 11 to 12 mo of age. Forty crossbred beef heifers were weaned at approximately 3.5 mo of age and, after a 2-wk acclimation period, were assigned randomly to 1 of 4 nutritional groups: 1)...
